Kate Davies
Nursery Manager and Expert Early Years Teacher
Kate Davies is an outstanding leader and qualified Early Years Teacher. In 2023, Kate was honoured with the prestigious Early Years Teacher of the Year award—an achievement of which we are all incredibly proud.
As our Communication Champion, Kate leads on promoting and supporting children’s speech, language and communication, ensuring every child has the opportunity to develop these vital skills.
Demonstrating her ongoing commitment to continuous professional development (CPD), Kate is currently studying for her Level 3 Early Years Special Educational Needs (SEN) qualification. This additional expertise enables JITBX to continue providing the highest quality support and achieve the very best educational outcomes for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
During our recent Local Authority audit, our commitment to supporting children with additional needs and promoting positive outcomes for every child was recognised and commended, reflecting the high standards of care and education we strive to provide.
FSA Accredited Forest School
Jack In The Box Nursery became an accredited Forest School provider in 2024. Whilst many provisions refer to themselves as delivering “Forest School’ they are actually not. To be able to call ourselves a Forest School” we have to undertake accreditation on an annual basis with the Forest School Association. Strict criteria govern this accreditation to ensure that the Forest School sessions are offered authentically to the children. We are incredibly proud of FSA accreditation and the opportunities that Forest School sessions bring to our children.

We are proud to celebrate that every practitioner at JITBX is fully trained in the Togetherness Programme. This emotional wellbeing approach places secure relationships at the heart of everything we do, helping us to understand and respond to each child’s individual needs. By building strong attachments, providing consistent boundaries, and creating predictable daily rhythms, we ensure every child feels safe, valued, and supported to thrive in our home-from-home environment. This shared approach enables us to provide consistent, nurturing care that promotes emotional wellbeing, positive behaviour, and confident learning.

We are delighted to hold this accreditation after working hard to ensure that our environment and learning philosophy promote awe and wonder for the children who attend. We place the children at the heart of everything we do and provide them with innumerable opportunities to direct their own learning through exploration, imagination and creativity.
JITBX STAFF CPD
At JITBX, we believe that investing in our team means investing in your child. Every member of staff is committed to continuous professional development, from apprentices gaining their Early Years qualifications to graduates becoming Early Years Teachers.
All practitioners are Paediatric First Aid trained and trained in The Solihull Approach (Togetherness), which underpins our nurturing, relationship-based practice. We also encourage staff to become Forest School Leaders, enhancing our outdoor learning experiences.
Our highly skilled team includes Early Years Teachers, Forest School Leaders, Steiner Educators, Speech and Language Therapists, Early Years Graduates, Early Years Educators and a LAMDA Drama Teacher, ensuring every child benefits from a wealth of expertise every day.
STAFF WINS 2026
Having recently completed her Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification, Rosie is now undertaking her Forest School Leader training. Rosie has a real passion for nature-based learning and is excited to further develop her skills in creating meaningful outdoor experiences that support children’s wellbeing, confidence and love of learning.
Having gained Early Years Teacher Status last year, Hannah “JP” has gone on to qualify as a Forest School Leader. With a passion for both early years education and outdoor learning, Hannah enjoys creating meaningful experiences that encourage children’s curiosity, confidence and connection with the natural world.
With a degree in Early Childhood Studies and a wealth of early years qualifications, Katie recently achieved Early Years Teacher Status, marking another exciting milestone in her professional journey. Katie is passionate about supporting children to thrive through meaningful, child-centred experiences and brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the team. Katie is currently enjoying maternity leave and we look forward to welcoming her back to Jack In The Box soon.
